We Have Landed
After an incredibly long journey that was incredibly testing on our patience, we have finally arrived in Jacksonville and are now checked in. It's almost overwhelming at first glance because everyone has so much energy and everyone is so excited to see you. Once we got unpacked, though, everything's kind of settled down, and I've gotten to meet my roommates for the summer. The first STP program is tonight after we go to dinner. The whole campus is kind of weird because it's all separated by trees and is like a little village in the middle of the country (yet somehow still in Jacksonville). Thanks everyone for their prayers for our safe travel. We arrived without incident and will be ready to go come tonight.

Takeoff Tomorrow
While STP 2011 doesn't exactly start then, tomorrow is the day I've long been looking forward to - the day we finally leave for Florida. I know already that the drive down is going to take a lot of time and a lot of patience. Tomorrow morning, we leave from Papillion, Nebraska at 8:00 and will try to arrive at Clarksville, Tennessee (which is right before Nashville) at about 9:00 tomorrow night. Just during our drive tomorrow, we will cross 5 states (not including Nebraska) and trek about 700 miles. We will spend the night there at a large church and meet up with groups from other schools across the Midwest. Monday (Memorial Day) morning, we will leave at 8:00 a.m. to travel to Valdosta, Georgia (which is 2 hours away from our final destination). Finally, on Tuesday we will arrive at Jacksonville and the University of North Florida to begin our Summer Training Program. I'm excited to see what God has in store for us and to have the opportunity to make new friends.
